The beauty of Jaflong

Jaflong is one of the most wonderful tourist spot in Sylhet which is roughly 60 km away from Sylhet city. It is located in Gowainghat Upazila of Sylhet and situated at the border between Bangladesh and the Indian state of Meghalaya. This place is entirely a hilly section of real pure beauty where hillsides are greenish using the forests. The tea gardens here are beautiful.

There are more than one attractive tourists spot in Jaflong. One of them is the Piyain river. A quite large with the length of nearly 145 km and trans-boundary river between India and Bangladesh. The river originated from Umgat river of Assam, a tributary of Surma river of Bangladesh. Travelers can easily go on rowing boats here.

Jaflong is mainly famous for collection of rolling stone.

Jaflong is the home for tribe Khaisa. They live near the Zero stage of Jaflong.

In addition, there was a royal palace for the king of Khasia tribe. Now all that’s left of the 18th century kingdom are the ruin of the palace and tribe. The ruin is situated in Jaintapur which is located 5 km from Jaflong.

It is quite easy to go to Jaflong and visit all the amazing places there. From Sylhet it takes 2 hours of long drive. In addition, there are bus services. Furthermore, there are train services which however take longer time. There are some fairly good hotels here and food is tasty.
